Alfaro huberi male female right profile

Alfaro Huberi (1923, Fowler) is a species of livebearer named in honor of Dr. Huber. Alfaro huberi was first described by Henry Weed Fowler in 1923 and placed in the genus Priapichthys. Hubbs would later move the species to the genus Furcipenis, before Bailey placed it in the genus Alfaro in 1963. They are commonly found in Central American waters.
